The Ceppaiano vineyard is located on the banks of Arno River, on sandy soils rich in minerals and fossils of marine origin, in one of the most vocated areas of Pisan hills at about 20km from Tyrrhenian Sea. The vines have been planted taking advantage of the long experience maturated by Castellani oenological team on the soils in this area.

Fifty Hectares

The vines have been planted taking advantage of the long experience maturated by Castellani oenological team on the soils in this area. The experiments conducted in cooperation with the Oenology dept. of the University of Pisa, made it possible to select the best clones and grape varieties, with the aim of producing modern wines, rich of territorial tipicity at the same time.
The presence of a vinification cellar within the estate and the use of integrated techniques of organic farming, allow the preservation of the purity of the fruit during cultivation, harvesting and processing.

The search for a new way of telling about the great Tuscan oenological tradition.
This research gives rise to the oenological project of the Estate, where the aim is to reconcile the tradition of Chianti, closely bound to Sangiovese grapes, and the wine innovation that saw in the coast and in the international vines the real revolution of the Tuscan enology from the 70s to date.
